Remembrance Sunday 9th November 2014

Our Provincial Grand Master is again requesting as many brethren and Lodges as possible to participate and support the institution of Remembrance Sunday by being involved in the parades and laying wreaths at war memorials. Last year 45 wreaths were laid on behalf of Mark Masonry throughout the Province with one also being laid at the Cenotaph in London.
A dispensation has been given by the Provincial Grand Master, (NOT APPLICABLE TO THE CRAFT) whereby Mark brethren may wear their Mark collars or chains at the remembrance parades or services if they so wish. This is only applicable to Remembrance Sunday and aprons must NOT be worn.

This year we have increased the numbers and ordered fifty off “Mark” wreaths in anticipation that more Lodges will be participating for 2014 until eventually all Mark lodges are involved. Lodges are requested to make their applications for wreaths to their Special Representative. All costs for the wreaths are being covered by a donation from the Provincial Mark Charities to the Royal British Legion.

It is intended that the wreaths will be available for distribution and collection from the Mark Ball on Saturday 25th October 2013 by the special representatives for distribution to the lodges.

Wherever possible if you are taking and laying a wreath will you please endeavour to update the Mark website with a report and photographs of your Lodges participation in the Remembrance Services and parades.
